A consultation into the the possible removal of on-road disc parking in St Martin's Grande Rue, in Guernsey, has been extended.

The Environment Department said their removal during recent roadworks had resulted in "improved traffic flows in the area".

The week-long consultation was due to end on Wednesday, but will now run until 1 August.

The department has asked anyone with a view to contact it.

It said it would take into account the comments of the parish authorities, businesses and residents of the area before making a decision on removing the parking on a trial basis at first.
