Seasick sailors rescued by Alderney lifeboat

Two seasick sailors and their yacht had to be towed to safety by the Alderney lifeboat.

The RNLI said it responded as the 12m (39ft) yacht Astazou reported engine problems and the crew were unable to sail due to severe seasickness.

The Roy Barker I was launched at 19:45 BST on Thursday and was alongside, about 23 miles northwest of the island, within the hour.

A towline was secured and both boats were safe in Braye Harbour by 11:45.

The Chichester-registered yacht had been returning to England from Guernsey.
