Guernsey's Man Powered Flight competition rules changed

The rules of Guernsey's annual Man Powered Flight competition have been changed.

The island's Round Table, which organises the event, said entrants must now use some sort of "flying contraption" to get them airbourne.

Vice-president Shaun Gourley, said the change was because in recent years people had simply turned up and thrown themselves into the harbour.

The event is the finale of the St Peter Port Harbour Carnival on 2 September.

The organisers are appealing for more entrants to take part.
