Four World War II aircraft have pulled out of Guernsey's 2011 Battle of Britain air display on Thursday.

The Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster and Dakota planes have traditionally taken part in the event, forming a Battle of Britain memorial flight.

Organisers said the weather conditions were unsuitable and they would not risk anything happening to the planes.

The rest of the event is due to go ahead as planned and will include a display by the Red Arrows.
