Guernsey orders 2,000 more flu vaccines than in 2010

Guernsey has ordered 2,000 more flu vaccines than in 2010, in a bid to avoid a winter shortage.

About 14,000 doses have been ordered and are expected to arrive by early October.

Geraldine O'Riordan, Guernsey's Prescribing Advisor, said the extra vaccines were ordered after a shortage last year.

The island came close to running out of the vaccine last winter.
