A Guernsey choir travels to New York for a performance

A Guernsey choir has travelled to New York to perform at the Carnegie Hall.

Sixteen singers from the Guernsey Choral and Orchestral Society will be part of an international chorus on 16 January - Martin Luther King Day.

They will be singing The Peacemakers, which is the latest work by composer Karl Jenkins.

Mr Jenkins will be conducting the chorus himself and the performance will mark the world premier of the peace-promoting composition.
