Guernsey States approve phone and data overhaul

The States of Guernsey has approved a £1.09m project to replace all of its communications with a single system.

It will replace a number of different phone and data services currently employed in the States, which have been developed independently.

The Treasury and Resources Department asked for the move as part of a project to introduce shared services.

The wide area network project will provide services for more than 5,000 staff and 9,000 school pupils.
