Guernsey Gas confirms it will cut up to 25 jobs

Guernsey Gas has confirmed it will cut between 20 and 25 jobs in the island.

The company, which is owned by the International Energy Group, said the redundancies formed part of an ongoing restructuring process.

In a statement released to the media, it said: "A consultation process is still ongoing and so exact numbers [of job losses] have yet to be finalised."

It also added that the restructuring of assets was taking place across Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.

Staff at Guernsey Gas have been informed and the company said a consultation was under way.

It said the exact number of redundancies would be revealed following the consultation.
