Guernsey States to rule on disclosure of own interests

Guernsey politicians may have to submit details of Bailiwick property they own if a change in rules is agreed.

In principle changes to members' interest declarations were approved in March and are due to be debated next week.

If agreed, deputies will in future have to disclose all business and company positions and other income sources.

Deputy Matt Fallaize has now placed a motion calling for full disclosure of property details as well.

In March, deputies rejected proposals to force disclosure of information relating to overseas travel, group memberships, and superannuation schemes.
