Guernsey Airport's emergency response to plane problems

Guernsey Airport activated its emergency plan after a plane reported a problem with its undercarriage.

The pilot of a Beechcraft 33 single engine private plan contacted the Guernsey control tower to report the jamming of its undercarriage.

After circling for 15 minutes the problem was resolved and the aircraft managed to land safely.

Fire and ambulance crews were mobilised after a full emergency was declared, but were later stood down.
