Alderney lifeboat rescues drifting Weymouth fishing boat

A Weymouth-registered fishing boat and its crew have been rescued by Alderney's lifeboat.

The 12m long Royal Escape was drifting 5.5 miles (9km) north-east of the island after its propeller was fouled.

Roy Barker I, the Alderney lifeboat, launched at 10:43 BST to help the four-man crew of the vessel.

The RNLI volunteers were alongside in about 20 minutes and established a tow rope to bring both vessels safely into Braye Harbour.
