Guernsey driving tests and licence cost to rise

The cost of taking a driving test or applying for a licence in Guernsey will rise this autumn.

Fees for full 10-year licences and some provisional licences will rise by £5 to £45 from 1 October.

Practical test costs will rise by £3-£6 to between £32 and £64 depending on the category on 1 November, while there will be no change to theory tests.

This is the first increase in practical test fees since 2009 and the first rise in licence fees in five years.

Other licence changes such as the removal or addition of a category will rise from £10 to £12.50, while replacing a lost or stolen licence will go up from £20 to £25.

Any changes to names and addresses, which mean licences have to be reissued, will remain free.
