Olympian Carl Hester named Guernsey ambassador

Carl Hester was named Ambassador of the Year at the Guernsey Awards for Achievement ceremony.

The gold medal winning dressage rider was chosen over bowls personality Alison Merrien and the St Martin's Floral Guernsey Group.

Eight hundred people attended a gala dinner at Beau Sejour which saw awards given out in a range of categories.

Livingroom Estate Agency picked up three business awards at the event, including Business of the Year.

Morgan Sharpe Administration received the Best New Business Category award, while the Channel Islands Cooperative Society took Employer of the Year.

The Unsung Hero Award was given to Roy Trustrum, in recognition of his services to elderly people in Guernsey.
