Guernsey motorists are being warned to expect "significant delays" while a road resurfacing project is carried out in St Peter Port.

The four-week project starts on Tuesday and involves the closures of Le Bouet, Pitronnerie and Vrangue Hill in stages.

During the first week, the junction where the roads meet will also close.

An Environment Department spokesman advised motorists "to allow extra time for their journey or use a different method of transport".

The closures will affect bus route 51.
