Guernsey Water 'no dig' sewer repair to 'cut delays'

Guernsey Water is introducing what it calls a "no dig" system to repair sewers while minimising road closures.

Sewers in the Castel, St Martins and St Peter Port areas needing attention have been identified using CCTV surveying.

"No dig" involves using water or air pressure to insert a soft felt tube coated with special resins that harden to leave a new lining.

The company said there will still be road closures over the summer but it would be "less disruptive" then normal.

The technique is being used in the Douit Boudin in Castel and Hougue Jehannet in the Vale.
