Guernsey resident Claire Lee killed sandboarding in Namibia
A Guernsey resident has been killed sandboarding in Namibia.
Claire Lee, who lived in the island with her husband, was one of a group of tourists travelling with personal trainer Jon Le Tocq.
Mr Le Tocq, owner of Storm Force Fitness, said Mrs Lee had died while sandboarding at Swakopmund, west of the capital Windhoek on Wednesday.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said it was providing consular assistance.
Mrs Lee held dual British and Australian nationality.
Guernsey Police said they were not involved in any investigation.
Mr Le Tocq said: "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family of our friend.
"She was a member of our small group on holiday in the country. At this time we are unable to comment further."
Sandboarding is similar to snowboarding but participants use boards to travel down sand dunes rather than snow.
