An outdoor classroom is being created during the extension of a walking route for pupils at two Guernsey schools.

Meanwhile, a pathway opened to St Sampson's High School and Le Murier School in 2010 has been changed in a bid to improve safety.

The route is now said to be "virtually traffic-free" and open to the public.

More than 3,000 trees and shrubs are being planted to create the outdoor classroom.
