Man charged with robbery in Guernsey

A man has been charged with robbery after Guernsey Police travelled to the UK to arrest him.

Shaun David Ogden, 25, from Terminus Road, Eastbourne, is charged with the robbery of Union Street Stores in March 2013.

It is understood nearly £140 was taken from the till.

Officers from Guernsey obtained a warrant to travel to the UK, arrest Mr Ogden and return him to the island by plane.

The till was left on Constitution Steps along with the clothing belonging to the offender.

Mr Ogden was arrested in Brighton by officers from Guernsey Police and returned to the island on Sunday.

He will appear in Guernsey's Royal Court on 15 January.
