Manx flu vaccine take-up 'poor'

Health officials on the Isle of Man are urging all those eligible for the flu vaccine not to delay visiting a GP.

A "significant number" of flu viruses are circulating locally and take-up of the vaccine has been poor, the Department of Health said.

And with long-term weather forecasts predicting lower than average temperatures in the next few weeks more people could be at risk, it added.

The 2010 vaccine protects against three common strains, including swine flu.
