Appeal to Douglas car crash witness

Police investigating a crash in Douglas in which a car struck the wall of a house and flipped over are appealing to a witness to contact them.

The blue Volkswagen Golf was being driven in Alexander Drive, Douglas, at about 2155 GMT on Sunday when it crashed near Westminster Drive.

The driver, 33, was taken to hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.

Police want to trace the driver of another vehicle in Alexander Drive and Westminster Terrace at about 2155 GMT.

Manx police did not release any further details about the vehicle.

"It is believed that the driver of this vehicle may well have witnessed the collision that involved a Volkswagen Golf... and may hold vital information that would assist the police in their inquiry," a spokesman said.

The car involved in the crash had failed to stop for a police van earlier, police said.

Any witnesses should contact police.
