Delays to mail deliveries in the UK, because of heavy snowfall, is having a knock-on effect on the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man Post Office said it could not guarantee that Special Delivery items posted to the United Kingdom would arrive the following day.

It has apologised to customers for any inconvenience and said officials were attempting to minimise disruption.

Staff are continuing to accept, prioritise and deliver the majority of letters and parcels.

"The guarantee for Special Delivery and Parcelforce services will be restored as soon as Isle of Man Post Office can assure customers it can honour the service promise in full," a spokesperson said.
