Kirk Michael rejects GP surgery at primary school
Residents in an Isle of Man village have rejected proposals to convert a primary school classroom into a GP surgery.
The Manx Department of Education and Children sought views on the plans for Michael Primary School in Kirk Michael.
Eighty people replied. Of those, 49 (62%) voted against the plans and 31 (38%) supported them.
The Department of Health (DoH) said it was evaluating the feedback and would make another announcement shortly.
It has previously said it was "very much up to the people of the village to decide whether or not the plan went ahead".
Residents in Kirk Michael currently see Ramsey GPs at surgeries at Cannan Court sheltered housing complex.
The DoH said that venue was temporary and there was insufficient space.
