Isle of Man unemployment at 'lowest this year'

Unemployment figures in the Isle of Man have fallen to the lowest levels this year, according to the Manx government.

The number of people out of work in May fell to 806 which means the rate of unemployment stands at 1.9%.

The Treasury statistics show that 583 men and 223 women are currently registered as being out of work.

Despite a decrease in inflation from 6.7% in April to 6.3% in May, Treasury Minister Anne Craine said the rate may increase over the next few months.
