Road resurfacing scheme in south of Isle of Man

A road resurfacing programme for the south of the Isle of Man will get under way on 1 August.

The Castletown roadworks are expected to take two months to complete.

Parking will be suspended on Victoria Road and there will be short-term road closures in both Shore Road and Bowling Green Road.

Reconstruction work on Douglas Road between King Williams Way and Shore Road roundabout will start at the beginning of September.

An infrastructure spokesman said: "The department is taking the opportunity on this very busy road to work longer hours, on a double shift system, between 07:00 BST and 21:30.

"Due to the nature of the work, there will be times when access to properties and businesses may be restricted for short periods and where this happens there will be local liaison with those affected".
