Unemployment rises in Isle of Man

The rate of unemployment in the Isle of Man has risen by 0.1% to 890.

The number of people out of work has steadily increased since June when the rate of unemployment stood at 1.9%

The current rate of unemployment in the Isle of Man is 2.1%, whereas in the UK it stands at 7.7%, according to the Office for National Statistics.

During July the number of people on the island out of work went up by 44 and treasury figures show that 633 men and 257 women are currently unemployed.
