Injuries in police car crash on Douglas to Ballacraine Road

A motorcyclist and pillion passenger have been treated at Noble's Hospital after their bike collided with a police patrol car.

The crash involving the marked police Ford Mondeo and a BMW R1200 motorcycle took place on the main Douglas to Ballacraine road near to Cronk Breck.

It happened at about 12:50 BST on Saturday.

The driver of the police car was not injured and the motorcycle victims' injuries are not serious, police said.

The road was closed for about two hours while officers conducted inquiries at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "We would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision or who may have been travelling through the area.

"In particular we would like to speak to the occupants of a blue Ford Focus that was travelling ahead of the police vehicle at the time of the collision."
