Man charged over Castletown fight

A man has been charged in connection with a fight on the Isle of Man which left a man badly injured.

Robert Lee Quinney, 42, of Malew Street, Castletown, suffered serious head injuries in the incident in Malew Street, Castletown, on Wednesday.

A 30-year-old man arrested on Thursday has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The Isle of Man Constabulary said he was due to appear in court in Douglas on Saturday.

The fight took place in Malew Street at the junction with Bank Street at about 18:15 BST on Wednesday.

The victim was taken to Nobles Hospital for treatment and it is understood he has since been transferred to Walton Hospital in Liverpool.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
