Nearly 2,000 Onchan homes without power after fault

Nearly 2,000 homes and businesses on the Isle of Man were without power for nearly an hour after a cable fault.

Electricity supplies to the Onchan area went off at 07:08 GMT because of the fault between Douglas North Primary substation and Glenside substation.

Manx Electricity Authority said its engineers responded and all supplies were restored at 8:02 GMT.

She said engineers were working to fix the fault but no further disruption was expected.
