Christmas parcels 'taking longer to arrive than usual'

Christmas parcels are "taking longer to arrive on the island than usual", according to Isle of Man Post Office.

The company said this was due to adverse weather conditions and limited ferry crossings in recent weeks.

It said staff were working hard to sort and deliver all parcels as soon as they arrived on the island.

A spokesman said the last posting date to the UK and Channel Islands is 21 December although a special delivery service is available until 23 December.

He added: "Post for local delivery should be sent by 23 December.

"There will also be a normal postal delivery on Christmas Eve, and the Post Office Retail Network will be open until 12.30 GMT where customers can collect left items at Douglas Mail Centre until 16.00".
