Isle of Man sees January peak in debt concern
The number of people seeking counselling and advice for debt problems in the Isle of Man is expected to peak in January.
An OFT spokesman said initial figures show a similar trend to those of 2012.
Between January and March 2011 the service assisted 46 debt clients compared with an average of 38 in the year's other quarterly figures.
A booklet has also been produced to help people manage debt and deal with legal issues.
Official figures from the organisation show that during 2011 the service helped clients manage a total debt of more than £3m.
Credit card debt accounted for more than 40% of the total owed.
More information on the debt service is available from the organisation's website.
