The Lord Mayor of the City of London is to visit the Isle of Man to learn about its role as an international business and finance centre.

Alderman David Wootton, whose job is to promote the City and British financial services generally, will be welcomed by Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK.

Thursday's visit will include briefings on various sectors of the island's economy, and finance sector regulation.

The lord mayor was invited by the chief minister in December last year.

Mr Bell was in London as part of the Manx government's programme of engagement with key figures in Westminster and the City.

Mr Wootton began serving as the 684th Lord Mayor of London in November.
