Ballakermeen High School given Investors in People award

A secondary school on the Isle of Man has been given a gold award from the Investors in People organisation.

Ballakermeen High School, which has about 1,500 students and 200 staff, was singled out for its leadership skills.

Investors in People was launched in 1991 with the aim of promoting effective people-management.

A government spokesman said the award was "fitting" recognition for the provision of a "first-class" education.
