Isle of Man event offers help on eating disorders
An event offering help and hope to those suffering from eating disorders has been arranged on the island.
The meeting aims to highlight problems and present solutions to help overcome destructive eating patterns.
According to clinical statistics 10% of sufferers have anorexia, 40% bulimia and the 50% an unspecified disorder which includes binge eating.
An Isle of Man social care spokesperson said the road to recovery would be outlined at the meeting.
He added: "There will be a variety of information available to view and to take away, such as understanding eating disorders and tips for parents, families, siblings and friends.
"There will also be information for any professional working with a person who has an eating disorder."
The meeting will take place at the museum on Kingswood Grove in Douglas on 22 February between 18:30 and 19:30 (GMT).
