Island ferry service changes during dry dock

Changes to the Isle of Man's ferry services have been announced ahead of scheduled dry dock services for the Ben-my-Chree vessel.

The vessel will enter dry dock for its biennial overhaul between 16 April and 5 May and return to service on 6 May.

A replacement charter vessel from Northlink Ferries will operate a daily return freight service to Heysham.

The fast craft, Manannan, is expected to cover passenger and car services for Heysham, Liverpool and Ireland.

A spokesman from the Steam Packet company said: "Connecting coaches will also be provided for foot passengers in Heysham to transport them to Lancaster station."
