Gareth Cowin: Special Olympian's funeral held in Douglas

The funeral of Manx Special Olympian Gareth Cowin has taken place in Douglas.

The 25-year-old died last month in Pyeongchang, South Korea, whilst representing the island at the Special Olympics World Winter Games.

The funeral was held at St Mary's Church in Douglas.

Mr Cowin had represented the Isle of Man at several World Games, winning gold medals in both floor hockey and five-a-side football.

Those attending were asked to wear bright clothing and football shirts.

The family asked that all donations were made to Special Olympics Isle of Man.
