£3.2m Victoria Road school extension opened
A £3.2m extension has been opened at Victoria Road Primary School in Castletown, Isle of Man.
It was opened by former chief minister Tony Brown, who was a pupil at the school. He said he was "delighted and very proud" to open the extension.
Acting head teacher Ian Postlethwaite said it would "enhance the quality of education" that could be offered.
The new facilities include additional classroom space, a canopy for outdoor activities and multi-purpose hall.
Mr Brown said: "The completed scheme has provided our school with important and wonderful improvements which have been much needed for many years."
The school, which has 212 pupils, first opened its doors in 1895.
