Yearly fall in Isle of Man unemployment

Unemployment figures on the Isle of Man are marginally lower than in February 2013, according to official figures.

At the end of the month there were 1,146 people out of work, compared with 1,181 at the same time last year.

The treasury figures show 813 men were unemployed at the end of last month and 333 women.

Most of those signing on to the island's unemployment register during the month came from the retail and catering sectors.

The catering and hotel industry accounted for the largest number of unemployed people, with 126 registered in February 2014.

The current rate of unemployment on the Isle of Man stands at 2.6%.
