Man charged over £25,000 raid at Isle of Man jewellers
A man from the Isle of Man has been charged in connection with a hammer raid at a jewellery shop in the centre of the Manx capital.
About £25,000 worth of jewellery was taken by a man wielding a hammer in the robbery at RHS Jewellers on Prospect Hill in Douglas at 16:00 BST on 9 May.
A police spokesman said the shop owner was left shaken but was not injured.
A 38-year-old man had been due to appear in court on Saturday, officers said.
A motorcycle used in the raid was stolen from the Tynwald Street area of Douglas and later recovered from the rear of Belmont Terrace.
