Isle of Man police hunt man after woman attacked

Police are hunting a man after a woman was seriously injured during an attack in the capital of the Isle of Man.

It happened in the area of Demesne Road, near the centre of Douglas on 29 May at about 20:45 BST.

Detectives are trying to trace 29-year old Mark Thomas Bell in connection with the attack, which left a 23-year old woman needing "extensive treatment".

A constabulary spokesman said although there was no risk to the public, Mr Bell should not be approached.

"Any person harbouring him, or who does anything to impede his arrest, may well be subject of an investigation themselves," he added.

Anyone with information about Mr Bell's whereabouts is asked to contact police headquarters in Douglas.
