Isle of Man unemployment falls by 96 in May

The number of people unemployed on the Isle of Man fell by 96 during May, official figures have shown.

At the end of the month there were 890 people out of work, compared with 986 the previous month.

The Treasury figures show 614 men were unemployed at the end of last month and 276 women.

During the month, 668 vacancies were notified to the Isle of Man Job Centre with 324 positions still vacant and held on file.

A Treasury spokesman said the current rate of unemployment stands at 2%.
