Two Ramsey men have admitted plotting to import heroin into the Isle of Man with a street value of £22,600.

David Bonnar, 36, and Scott Carbutt, 32, were arrested at Ronaldsway Airport on Tuesday after the haul was seized.

Both men pleaded guilty at Douglas courthouse to four charges including possessing heroin with intent to supply.

There was no application for bail and both men were remanded in custody until 24 October.

Jean Bonnar of Ramsey is charged with four counts of concealing and removing criminal property in connection with the incident.

The 61-year-old has been bailed until 4 November.

Police said preventing nearly £23,000 of heroin reaching the streets of the Isle of Man was "significant."
