Isle of Man unemployment fell in October

The number of people unemployed on the Isle of Man fell slightly in October, official figures have shown.

At the end of the month, 859 were out of work, an unemployment rate of 1.9%, which is the same as September.

Manx Treasury figures show 604 men were unemployed at the end of last month and 262 women.

During the month, 590 vacancies were notified to the Isle of Man Job Centre with 293 positions still vacant and held on file.

The island's rate of inflation in October also eased for a third consecutive month to its current rate of 0.8%.
