Vandals target 38 cars in Castletown causing 'considerable' damage

Car vandals caused damage costing tens of thousands of pounds on the same night in the Isle of Man, police said.

Thirty-eight parked cars in Castletown were targeted overnight on Saturday with wing mirrors and wiper blades damaged and tyres punctured.

Damage was reported in Janet's Corner, Bowling Green Rd, Smetana Close, Athol Terrace, Malew Street and The Crofts.

A police spokesman said the damage is likely to run in to the "tens of thousands of pounds for owners".

The attacks would have taken "considerable time to carry out," he added.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the vandalism or who has information about it to contact them.
