An Isle of Man teacher hit by a coach while walking home died from "multiple injuries", an inquest has heard.

Robert Campbell was struck by the Douglas-bound vehicle on Richmond Hill in Braddan on 20 December.

The 31-year-old from Santon had been a PE teacher at St Ninian's High School in Douglas since 2007.

Coroner John Needham said Mr Campbell died in Noble's Hospital as a result of injuries caused by a "massive blunt force trauma".

Mr Campbell's inquest has been adjourned until next year.

Friends and pupils have paid tribute to the "popular" teacher on his school department's Facebook page.
