Isle of Man unemployment rises to 2.2%
The number of people unemployed on the Isle of Man rose by nearly 100 in January, official figures have shown.
At the end of the month, there were 973 Manx residents out of work, compared with 882 in December.
Isle of Man treasury figures now put the unemployment rate at 2.2% - the lowest January figure since 2011 and significantly lower than in 2014, when 1,182 were without work.
The figures also show that 70% (688) of those out of work are men.
About 20% (194) of those unemployed have been so for at least 12 months.
During January, 643 vacancies were notified to the Isle of Man Job Centre with 339 positions remaining vacant.
