Alexis French death: Death crash driver pleads not guilty

An Isle of Man motorist has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of his 10-year-old daughter.

Raymond French's daughter Alexis was killed in October 2013 when the BMW he was driving was in collision with a bus near Castletown.

The 45-year-old also denies causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

At Douglas courthouse Deemster Alistair Montgomerie bailed Ballaugh man Mr French. A trial date has yet to be set.

Alexis French, a year-six student from Ballaugh Primary School, died from head injuries in the collision, her inquest was told.

Mr French and Alexis's younger brother were both critically injured in the crash and taken to hospitals in the UK.

His wife was also taken to hospital along with six people from the bus, which had been travelling towards Port Erin.
