Two sailors have been rescued after their yacht ran aground on a beach, the RNLI have said.

The crew got into difficulties just off the northern end of Douglas Beach at about 19:25 BST on Tuesday.

They were able to refloat the yacht but a "brisk onshore wind" meant they had become trapped and unable to set sail, an RNLI spokesman said.

The Douglas RNLI lifeboat was launched to rescue the pair and the yacht was towed to Douglas harbour.
