Norovirus outbreak closes Isle of Man school
A primary school in Douglas has closed because of a winter vomiting bug.
Several children and staff at Ballacottier School in the Manx capital have been struck with symptoms of the norovirus bug.
In a letter to parents, head teacher Carol Walsh said the school was shut on Friday to allow the building to be "deep cleaned".
The school is due to re-open on Monday, although parents are advised to keep children at home if they are unwell.
The winter sickness bug, or norovirus, is very contagious and causes vomiting and diarrhoea.
