Thousands of people are expected to attend a real ale festival which gets under way in the Isle of Man later.

Last year more than 3,000 festival goers attended the three-day event at the Villa Marina in Douglas.

A Campaign for Real Ale spokesman said this year's event will feature 150 different beers, ciders, perries and fruit wines.

Organiser Roger Cave said there will be something on offer to suit "all tastes and palates".

A donation from sales of a beer specially brewed for the festival will be handed over to the Alzheimer's Society in the Isle of Man.

The festival will be opened by the Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney.
