Beaulieu School gets money for floor renovation

A Jersey school has been awarded £67,000 funding to renovate part of its building.

Beaulieu School will use the money to renovate the upper floor of the former convent and provide an external lift.

The money will be used in an on-going project to create four new classrooms and toilets.

The school supports girls aged four to 18 with learning difficulties including Aspergers syndrome or those needing emotional support.

Headmaster Chris Beirne said: "Our success in supporting these students has led to a growing demand from parents and means that Beaulieu needs further investment in its buildings to meet their daughters' specific learning needs."

The contract for the work will now be put out to tender.
